
‘TUNE IN’ TO YOUR POTENTIAL
Are you 16 - 18 years old? Not in education, employment or training?
Join us at Red Tape Studios for a 13 week programme aimed at encouraging young people to think about their next steps in employment, education and training.
Develop your learning and knowledge by taking part in a range of music workshops, engage in outdoor activities with the ‘Endeavour’ programme and improve your maths and English skills.
Entry Requirements
After applying for ‘Tune in’ to Your Potential, you will be invited to join us at Red Tape Central to meet the tutors and have a tour around the studios followed by an interview. To be successful and join the programme, we would expect you to independently demonstrate the following skills and abilities:
★ Be committed to improving your English and maths skills
★ Be willing to participate in a variety of task - independently and as part of a team
★ Show a willingness to develop and build positive relationships
★ Show respect and tolerance towards others
★ Demonstrate a willingness to learn through positive behaviour
When do I need to attend?
The programme will start Tuesday 13th September and run for 13 weeks, finishing on Thursday 15th December. Sessions are held weekly: on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The start time for each day is 9.00am, finishing at 3.45pm with a 45 minute lunch break 12.00pm - 12.45pm. You will also have a 15 minute break during both your morning and afternoon session.
The centre will close for the half term holiday, closing its doors on Friday 21st October and re-opening on Monday 31st October.
What will I do on the programme?
One afternoon a week you will develop your maths and English skills to the next appropriate level. You will take part in music workshops, developing practical skills like sound recording, DJ skills and film scoring and receive career information and guidance through further work related activities . You will develop your understanding about the wider world by taking part in further enrichment including activities outside the centre with the Endeavor programme.
What support will I receive?
- A personal tutor who will support and guide you throughout your time on the programme.
- Three reviews throughout the programme to provide feedback on your progress and talk to you about any concerns you may have.
- At Red Tape Central, Safeguarding our learners is our priority and we shall ensure you are given the opportunity to learn in a supportive and safe environment.
- Financial assistance and advice if eligible.
- We will support you with application forms and interview techniques to help you progress intofurther education, employment or training.
